About Slack <> VWO Integration
Slack is an internal communication tool that helps teams collaborate and work together. By integrating VWO with Slack you can receive notifications about important events in your VWO account, such as campaign status changes, user addition, user deletion, and changes in user roles. You can also configure the notifications to be received in the Slack channels that you prefer.
Integrating Slack With Your VWO Account
Integrating Slack with your VWO account basically involves two steps:
Enabling and Authorizing Slack Integration
If you have an active Slack Workspace, you can perform the following steps to integrate Slack with your VWO account:
- Log in to your VWO account.
- From the left panel of your VWO dashboard, go to the INTEGRATIONS page, which provides integrations to be enabled at the account level.
- Click on the Slack integration tile and click Enable Now to enable it.
- Once done, the Slack screen within the INTEGRATIONS page looks like this:

Now, click the Connect Slack button. This displays a popup, where you can set up a channel for VWO to post the notifications.

From the Channel dropdown, select a Slack Channel and click Allow.
INFO: Here, you can add your first Slack channel. You can add more Slack channels and configure them via Notification Settings.NOTE: If you are not able to view this screen, reach out to your Slack administrator for help.
Configuring Slack to Notify Account/Campaign Events
Upon authorizing VWO to send account/campaign-related notifications to Slack, you will be taken to the Config tab of the Slack integration page. This is where you can add channels and later configure them in Notification Settings to receive notifications. Perform the following steps to manage the notifications to your channels:
- Click Add Slack Channel.
- In the Add Slack Channel popup, select a Slack channel and click Add Channel. Now, the newly added Slack channel will be listed under the Config tab.
NOTE: If your Slack channel is private, it will not be displayed under the Channel dropdown. For such a case, go to your private Slack channel and ping @vwo. By doing so, the VWO bot will be added to your private channel and you will be able to receive your campaign notifications on the same.
You can send a test notification or remove a channel by selecting the options shown below: -
After having added the required channels, you can configure the notification preferences for each of them. Click the Notifications link that takes you to the Notification Settings tab under Settings > Accounts.

Under the Notification Preferences section, turn on the notifications for the account/campaign events that you require.
ATTENTION: The notifications are not enabled by default. Therefore, in order to receive the notifications, you need to enable the required ones manually.Currently, the following VWO events are notified via Slack:

Campaign status changed - Notifies when campaign status is changed to Running/Paused/Archive/Trash/Delete

New user added - Notifies when a new user is added to the account

User deleted - Notifies when a user is deleted from the account

User role change - Notifies when a user role is changed to Owner/Admin/Publish/Design/Browse

Click + Add Recipient within each required event to add the Slack channels.
NOTE: To get back to the Config tab to add or remove Slack channels, click Configure under the Recipient Configuration section.
