A goal report displays the visitor data collected for the goal URLs, which includes different visitor activities on your websites, such as clicks on links or elements, form submits, page visits, revenue, and other custom conversions. Using VWO, you can slice and dice the report for a date range, visitor segments, conversion percentage, and overall performance of the goal.
To access a goal report, go to INSIGHTS > Goals. From the goals dashboard, select the goal for which you want to view the report. Now, to view the report, go to the DETAILED REPORT tab.
A goal report is typically divided into four sections:
1. Filters
You can filter the goal reports based on the dates and segments.
- Filter by Date
Click on the Date Filter, and select the date range for which you want to view the reports and click Apply. By default, the goal report displays data for the last 30 days.
- Last 30 Days: View reports of the last 30 days from today.
- Last 7 Days: View reports of the last 7 days from today.
- Yesterday: View yesterday's goal data.
- Today: View today's goal data.
- Filter by Segments
Click on the User Segments, and from the various segmentation options, select the segment for which you want to view the goal report and click Apply. The goal overview chart is filtered to display the relevant data after applying a particular segment. To learn about using report segmentation, Report Segmentation in VWO.
NOTE: In pre-segmentation, when you apply the query parameter filter, it is checked on the audience URL, whereas, in post-segmentation, it is checked on the session URL, viz., the first URL of the session. - Report-Specific Filters
Click on the Report Segments, and from the various segmentation options, select the one for which you want to view the goal report and click Apply.
NOTE: You can add more than one filter by clicking on Add a Filter option.
- Goal Trigger Time (Day of Week) - View goal data for specific days of the week. It considers the visitor's timezone.
- Goal Trigger Time (Hour of Day) - View goal data for specific hours of the day. It considers the visitor's timezone.
- Goal URL - View goal data for a specific URL
- Goal Revenue - (for goals with revenue goals) filter report by revenue value.
2. Goal Overview chart
The goal overview chart displays the conversion rate data for a specified period. It allows you to track the number of visitors as compared to the number of actual conversions at each stage of the goal.
By default, the goal Overview chart displays the conversion rate data for the last 30 days. If you have applied the date or segment filter, the corresponding data is displayed in this chart.
3. Goal Performance Metrics
This section of the goal report shows the total number of unique visitors, unique conversions, and the conversion rate.
4. View Heatmaps or Session Recordings Corresponding to Your Goal
This section of the goal report enables you to view the heatmaps and the recordings for both types of visitors, the ones who converted and the ones who did not convert. These help you to analyze visitor behavior in a better way.
