Describes the conditions that must be met before using VWO.
-
To be able to use VWO on your website, make sure that you are able to install the JS code snippet of the VWO SmartCode on your website.
INFO: To check if you have correctly installed the SmartCode on your webpage, enter the URL in the SmartCode Checker in the Settings > SmartCode section of your VWO Account. See SmartCode Checker in VWO to know what different results mean.NOTE: VWO only supports domain-name-based URLs. If you want, you can create an additional workspace to verify your A/B Tests. Post this, you will be able to clone your A/B tests to your production account. -
Since tag managers operate asynchronously, you cannot control the exact order in which tags are triggered. As a result, a tag intended to fire first may end up being triggered last. The issue with VWO SmartCode initiating late on the page is that your A/B tests load late on the website. As a result, you will see the control page for a moment before the changes appear. Moreover, tag managers often contain multiple scripts, so if the VWO script functions correctly on your blog pages, it doesn't necessarily mean it will behave the same way on other parts of your website where additional scripts are present.
NOTE: In general, all the A/B testing platforms have this issue. -
To use the VWO app, it’s recommended to use the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers. To be aware of the domains that have the ability to track users across different websites, refer to ITP issues.
NOTE: In Safari and Firefox (version 67 onwards), the third-party cookies are disabled by default. You need to manually enable them to use Campaign builder, Heatmaps, or Live Previews. - If you wish to run campaigns without writing a single line of code, we recommend you install the VWO Plugin on your webpages. The VWO Plugin automatically adds the SmartCode to the websites.
