Some Other Issues in VWO Visual Editor
If you don't see any error codes or failure messages but are still having trouble loading your webpage in the editor, we recommend that you verify the following:
-
Check if any Javascript blockers like AdBlocker and DuckDuckGo are installed on your browser with custom settings. If so, ensure that VWO requests (vwo.com and visualwebsiteoptimizer.com) are whitelisted. Otherwise, the Visual Editor, Heatmaps, SmartCode Checker, and the Previews will not load.
For instance, if you have the uBlock plugin enabled on your browser, here’s how you can whitelist VWO requests:
-
-
- Click on the uBlock icon in your browser and open the dashboard by clicking on the Settings icon.
- Go to the My filters tab and add- @@||*.visualwebsiteoptimizer.com^.
- Once done, click Apply changes. Now everything should work fine.
- Click on the uBlock icon in your browser and open the dashboard by clicking on the Settings icon.
-
-
- Ensure that the URL you entered in the Enter URL of the page for which you want to preview field is valid.
- When you load the mobile view in the editor, VWO displays the webpage in an iframe. However, loading responsive websites in an iframe may be restricted for certain websites. To check whether a page opens in an iframe, hit this URL in your browser: data:text/html,<iframe id="testFrame" src="your_website_URL" width="320px" height="600px"></iframe>. If it is broken, you may need to get in touch with your development team to fix it.
- Although third-party cookies are not necessary for VWO Editor to function, third-party storage (sessionStorage and localStorage) is still required. Therefore, we recommend that you enable third-party cookies in your browser settings.
-
If you have a frame buster script installed on your mobile responsive website, the VWO editor may not load your webpage inside the editor; instead, the page opens in the browser. To resolve this, remove any frame buster scripts from your website or modify them so that they do not break the VWO editor's iframe. Additionally, to add VWO as an exception and have VWO's iframe open your website, use the following “if” condition within frame buster script in your source code:
