Excluding IP addresses enables you to avoid tracking certain IP ranges on the webpages where the VWO code is running. For example, you may want to exclude yourself and the other users from being tracked by VWO to optimize your reports data.
Visitors trying to access any VWO test, heatmaps, Recordings, Surveys, Goals or Funnels from the IP addresses added in the section IP ADDRESSES TO EXCLUDE will not be tracked. Their behavior will not be included in the reports and eliminate any skew caused by it. This ensures that the reports are populated only by target visitors.
NOTE: If a visitor whose IP is excluded lands on the test URL, then the visit will not be tracked but the variation could still be displayed to the user.
You must have VWO Account Admin rights to add or edit IP Addresses for exclusion. Users with only Publish or Browse access privilege can view the list but cannot add or edit the list.
- Log in to your VWO account.
- Go to SETTINGS > ACCOUNTS > CAMPAIGN SETTINGS.
- Go to the IP ADDRESSES TO EXCLUDE section, and in the Add IP addresses each separated by a new line field, add the IP addresses which you want to be excluded.
- Click Save.
You can also use regular expressions to include a range of IP addresses. Click here to learn how to build your IP Regular Expression.
