Overview
Acquia Convert is a tool designed to help businesses optimize their Drupal websites through A/B testing, insights, and personalization.
By integrating VWO with Acquia Convert, you can enhance your VWO Personalize campaigns by using the Drupal metadata to create visitor segments, such as Content Type, Tags, and Taxonomy. You can use these segments while setting up targeting for experiences, both historically and in real time, to deliver personalized experiences based on visitor interactions with your Drupal website. Additionally, you can apply them during post-segmentation to analyze how different visitor segments engage with personalized content.
Prerequisites
Before proceeding with the installation and configuration, ensure you have the following in place:
- A Drupal website running a supported (current) version of Drupal
- Administrative access to your Drupal site
- An active Acquia Convert subscription
You can find step-by-step instructions to set up these prerequisites in the Acquia Convert documentation. After you complete all the steps outlined there, proceed to enable the VWO-Acquia Convert integration in VWO.
Enable the VWO-Acquia Convert Integration
To enable this integration, perform the following steps:
- Log in to your account.
- On the dashboard, from the main menu on the left, go to Configurations > Integrations. Integrations enabled here apply at the account level, meaning they will be available by default in all future Personalize campaigns.
-
Click on the Acquia Convert integration and switch the toggle on to enable it. The Acquia Convert screen within the Integrations page looks like this:
Once the integration is enabled, VWO begins capturing the metadata of your Drupal website pages. You can then use this data to create visitor segments in your Personalize campaigns.
Verify the Integration
Once the integration is successfully enabled, Page View events start streaming to the audit screen (VWO Dashboard > Data360 > Audit) along with the associated Drupal page metadata.
Set Up Segments using Drupal Page Metadata in VWO
Imagine you’re running a Drupal-based eCommerce website for clothing and want to personalize product pages for visitors who frequently browse certain categories. For example, you have designed an experience for users who have viewed the Winter Collection more than twice in the past 10 days. To target these visitors, follow these steps in your Personalize campaign:
- Go to Configuration > Targets and click on an experience to view the segmentation setting.
- In the segmentation box that appears, go to Custom Segment and configure the condition as Page visit > 2 times, where Drupal Content Type = Winter Collection, anytime in the last 10 days.
- Click Save Segment.
VWO now starts serving the experience only to visitors who meet the defined condition.
