Overview
VWO Pulse is designed to help teams understand user sentiment, motivations, and friction points directly within their digital experiences, across web, mobile, and in-app journeys. Pulse enables you to capture contextual feedback at the right moment and use AI-powered insights to quickly identify patterns, themes, and opportunities for improvement.
With Pulse, product, growth, UX, and experimentation teams can connect user feedback with decision-making, build stronger hypotheses for tests, validate ideas early, and reduce guesswork in understanding customer behavior.
VWO Pulse helps teams:
- Ask the right questions at the right time using intelligent targeting and mobile/web triggers.
- Capture the voice of the customer within native mobile apps.
- Turn open-ended feedback into structured insights using AI.
- Build stronger hypotheses for experiments and personalization programs.

Modules in VWO Pulse
Surveys
The Surveys module allows you to create and manage surveys across your website, mobile app, and standalone link-based experiences. With flexible targeting, event-driven triggers, and multiple publishing platforms, surveys help you capture real-time user feedback in context, whether on a landing page, checkout funnel, or within an app screen.
Key capabilities include:
- Multiple question types (NPS, rating scales, emoji rating, open text, and matrix)
- Web, mobile app, and link-based deployment
- Logic flows and AI-assisted question generation
- Advanced delivery settings and response controls
- Survey templates for quick setup
Use surveys to understand user motivations, identify friction, and refine hypotheses for experimentation. For more information, see Introduction to VWO Pulse Surveys.
Concept Test
The Concept Test module allows teams to validate early-stage ideas, UI concepts, feature directions, or messaging before making costly design or development investments.
Concept tests help you:
- Present users with design mockups, prototypes, or descriptions
- Capture emotional reactions, preference data, clarity feedback, and expectations
- Compare different versions of concepts before committing to a direction
Common use cases include:
- Testing new homepage layouts
- Evaluating onboarding flows
- Exploring feature ideas
- Validating pricing or value propositions
Concept tests help teams make user-informed decisions earlier in the product lifecycle.
Templates
The Templates module provides a library of pre-built survey and concept test templates designed around common business questions and research scenarios.
Templates help you:
- Start quickly without writing questions manually
- Use validated, expert-designed structures
- Maintain consistency across teams and surveys
- Accelerate discovery work with pre-configured question sets
You can add template-based questions to existing draft surveys or use them as the foundation for new surveys or concept tests.
Settings
The Settings module allows you to configure global preferences and administrative controls for VWO Pulse surveys and concept tests.
You can configure the following global settings:
- Frequency and response controls
- Language and translation options
- Style, branding, and white-label options
By configuring these settings upfront, you ensure surveys follow a consistent standard, adhere to brand and localization requirements, and scale smoothly across teams and markets.
