As the account owner or admin, you can transfer ownership to another user on your account, as long as the user has main account access.
In VWO, you can change the account owner in the following two ways:
- Do it yourself using the Accounts > Users section of your VWO account, or
- Request the VWO Support team to do it for you
NOTE: We recommend the second option when your current account owner is no longer with the organization and you cannot access their email.
Let’s look at how each option works.
Changing the Account Owner Yourself
Using the Accounts > Users section of your VWO account, you can change the account owner.
Prerequisites
- The account owner or admin must log in to the VWO account, not any other user.
- An invited user cannot be made the owner of the account.
INFO: An invited user is someone who has been added to your account but not yet verified. - The user who will be the new account owner must already exist with the main account access. If the user does not exist, you must add a user following the instructions in this article.
NOTE: The role of the current account owner will automatically change to Admin after the transfer of ownership.
If you are the existing owner of the account:
NOTE: This process requires a security token, an 8-digit OTP, for authentication. To know more, refer to the procedure below.

Requesting VWO’s Support Team to Change the Account Owner
If your current account owner is no longer with the organization, you can request the VWO team for ownership transfer by sending an email with the following information from your registered email at support@vwo.com:
- The email address of the user you wish to make the owner.
- The billing address and the last two digits of your credit card for your identity verification. You can find the billing details in the Settings > Billing & Invoices section.
NOTE: We require these details for security reasons. These are used to verify that the user making the request is an authorized account user. Furthermore, ensure to copy the current owner on the email and that the new owner is already a user in the main account.
