Using the Hypothesis Dashboard in VWO

The Hypothesis dashboard in VWO is the central place that enables you to create and manage your hypotheses. All the hypotheses that you have created in your VWO account appear here. Using this dashboard, you can:

• Create a Hypothesis
• Manage and Track Hypotheses
• Sort and Filter Hypotheses
• Edit, Clone, or Delete a Hypothesis

To access the hypothesis dashboard, go to PLAN > Hypotheses.

Create a Hypothesis

You can create a hypothesis by clicking on the CREATE button present in the hypothesis dashboard's top right corner. To learn more about creating a hypothesis in VWO, refer to Creating a Hypothesis in VWO.

Manage and Track Hypotheses

The Hypotheses dashboard in VWO enables you to manage and track your hypothesis in different views: Progress View and List View. You can switch between these views as and when needed.

The Progress View gives an overview of the status of your hypotheses and has the following sections:

• • Backlogs: All the newly created hypotheses and the ones that are ready to be tested yet appear in this section.
  • Selected for Testing: This section displays all the hypotheses linked to the tests but are yet to start. 
  • Testing: This section displays the hypotheses linked to the running tests.
  • Completed: This section displays the hypotheses linked to the test that has declared a result.
  • Archived: The hypotheses that are archived appear here.
    
    NOTE: These are the default behaviors; you can customize these as required.

Based on your hypotheses' progress, you can drag and drop them to different sections. Not just this, using the Customize Workflow option, you can rearrange the sections present in the Progress View.

While the progress view displays the journey of your hypothesis, the List View enables you to search, filter, sort, star, edit, and delete your hypothesis.

Sort and Filter Hypotheses

The List View of the Hypothesis dashboard enables you to filter and sort your hypothesis list. Using the panel on the right of the hypothesis dashboard, you can:

1. Sort your Hypotheses
   To sort your hypotheses, choose any of the following options from the dropdown present in the SORT section:
   
   • • • Created: Sort the hypotheses list by creation date.
         
       • Updated: Sort the hypotheses list by the last update date.
       • Score: Sort the hypotheses list by the prioritization score.
         
         
2. In VWO, you can filter out your hypotheses on various parameters. To do this, go to the FILTERS section, and work with the ones relevant for you:
   • • FIND BY NAME OR ID: Filter the hypotheses list based on the Name or ID you entered.
     • SOURCE: Filter the hypotheses list based on the Page URL.
     • BY CREATION DATE: Filter the hypotheses list based on the selected date range.
     • OTHER FILTERS: Filter the hypotheses list based on Starred, No Observation linked, Not Prioritized, and No learnings.
     • BY LABEL: Filter the hypotheses list based on the labels you have added during the hypotheses creation.
     • BY STATE: Filter the hypotheses list based on their status- Backlog, Selected for testing, Testing, Completed, and Archived

Edit or Delete a Hypothesis

To edit or delete a hypothesis, click on the ellipsis icon (⋮) corresponding to it, and from the context menu, choose the desired option.

If you choose EDIT, the hypothesis dialog appears, which allows you to modify the existing configurations. Likewise, if you choose Delete, a confirmation dialog appears asking you to approve the deletion request. Once you approve, you’ll see a message- Hypothesis was successfully deleted.

Alternatively, you can also delete a hypothesis by first selecting it (click the checkbox corresponding to the hypothesis) and then click the DELETE button that appears at the top of the hypothesis dashboard.
