Overview
The sign-up and login process in VWO supports multiple methods for workspace creation and access. Whether you are starting a free trial for the first time or returning as an existing user, VWO provides multiple entry points and authentication options to help you get started or continue using the platform.
Depending on where you are in your VWO journey, use the appropriate option below to get started quickly:
-

Already have a workspace?
Sign in using your existing credentials or preferred authentication method. -
Part of an organization using Single Sign-on (SSO)?

Signed up earlier, but haven’t set a password yet?
Use the Forgot Password option to set your password and access your workspace.
The following sections provide step-by-step instructions for each of these sign-up and login methods.
Create Your VWO Workspace
You can create a VWO workspace by signing up for a free trial, which gives you full access to the platform. You can sign up for VWO from the official website or the login page.
- Go to https://vwo.com/ and click Explore for Free.
- Or, navigate to app.vwo.com and click Start a free trial at the bottom of the sign-in panel.
Enter your details in the sign-up form and click Create Account to complete the process.
Note:
- VWO restricts sign-ups from public domains, such as gmail.com, to ensure workspaces are associated with professional organizations. If you use a restricted domain, an error message appears, and you will not be able to proceed.
- Verify if the I agree to VWO’s Privacy Policy & Terms checkbox is selected. It should be selected by default. If you clear the checkbox, you will not be able to proceed with the workspace creation.
Once the workspace is created, whether you sign up from the VWO website or the application login page, you are presented with an option to schedule a demo call. You can choose a time slot or click Skip & continue to app to proceed directly to your new workspace.
While VWO sets up your workspace, it also sends an email to the registered email address you used to sign up. The email contains a link to verify the workspace.
Get Started and Verify Your Workspace
After creating your VWO workspace, you are automatically logged in and guided through the initial onboarding experience.
Before accessing the workspace dashboard, you can choose how to begin: either explore a demo environment or continue your workspace setup.
Choose How to Get Started
On your first login, VWO presents a welcome screen with two options:
-
Explore VWO Playground
Click Explore to access a demo environment preloaded with sample data. This allows you to try out features and understand the platform without configuring your website. You can explore the Playground first and complete your setup later.
-
Continue Workspace Setup
Click Continue Setup to begin configuring your VWO workspace for your website and use cases. If you choose this option, the next step is to verify your workspace to proceed with setup.
Verify Your Workspace Setup
To complete your workspace verification and ensure continued access, verify your email address by following these steps:
- Check your inbox for an email from Team VWO with the subject Welcome to VWO, Build Winning Experiences - Verify to Start Your Optimization Journey.
-
Click Verify Account. This link expires after 2 hours. If the link has expired, request a new verification email, by clicking Verify Account on your workspace dashboard.
After you click Verify Account in the email, you are automatically logged in to your VWO workspace. You also receive a confirmation email from the VWO team indicating that your email address has been successfully verified. In addition, a confirmation message is displayed within your workspace to notify you that the verification is complete.
Manage Existing Workspace Access Issues During Sign-Up
In some cases, you may encounter issues during sign-up due to the existing state of your workspace. The following table explains how you can troubleshoot such issues.
| Issue | Possible Cause | Recommended Solution |
| Email is already registered. | If your email address is already associated with a VWO workspace, you will not be able to create a new workspace using the same email. | Sign in using your existing credentials or use the Forgot Password option to regain access. |
| Invited to an existing workspace. | If you have been invited to join an organization’s VWO workspace, you will receive an email invitation. | Accept the invitation and follow the setup instructions. Depending on your organization’s configuration, you may need to use SSO or set a password to access the workspace. |
Sign In to VWO
If you are a returning user, you can access your workspace using several authentication methods.
To optimize your login experience, VWO remembers the last workspace you accessed and automatically redirects you to it when you log in. If you have access to multiple workspaces, VWO takes you to the one you were in before signing out, regardless of the sign-in method you use, such as email-password, Google, SSO, or passkey.
For example, if you have access to four workspaces and log out while working in Workspace 3, VWO will redirect you to Workspace 3 the next time you log in, instead of defaulting to your primary workspace.
Note:
If you are redirected to an unexpected workspace, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- Access revoked - Your access to the previously used workspace has been removed.
- Workspace deleted - The workspace you last accessed no longer exists.
- Workspace disabled - The workspace has been temporarily or permanently disabled.
In such cases, VWO automatically redirects you to the workspace you originally signed up with. See Switch Between Workspaces to learn how to navigate between your workspaces.
The following methods are available to you depending on how your workspace was created and how it is configured within your organization.
Sign In with Email and Password
This option is available for all users who have set a password for their workspace. To sign in using this method:
- Go to app.vwo.com.
- Enter your Email address and Password.
-
[Optional] Select Remember me to extend your session duration.
- VWO sessions are time-bound to ensure workspace security. By default, your session expires after 2 hours of inactivity. When your session expires, you are automatically logged out and must sign in again to continue using the platform.
-
Selecting Remember me during sign-in extends the session duration to up to 14 days on the same browser and device.
Note: The Remember me selection applies only to the browser and device where it was selected. For security reasons, avoid using this option on shared or public devices.
- Click Sign In.
Upon successful authentication, you are logged in and taken to your VWO workspace dashboard.
Sign In with Google
This option is available if your workspace uses a Google Workspace email.
- Click Sign in with Google.
-
Select your registered workspace from the Google workspace picker.
- If you are already signed in to your Google account on the device, you are automatically signed in to VWO.
-
If not, enter your Google account credentials and click Sign in to proceed.
Note: This method only works if you have set a VWO password at least once or if your organization has specifically configured this authentication path.
Sign In using Single Sign-on (SSO)
This option is available only if your organization has configured SSO, enabled SSO login, and requires authentication through a centralized identity provider. For more information, contact your account administrator or see Sign In to Your VWO Account Using SSO.
Sign In with a Passkey
This option is available on supported devices and browsers that allow biometric or hardware-based authentication. For more information, see Use Passkeys to Log In to Your VWO Account.
Switch Between Workspaces
Each workspace you have access to is listed in the workspace switcher in the top navigation bar. You can switch between workspaces directly within the application without signing out.
To switch between workspaces:
- In the top navigation bar, click the workspace name displayed next to your current workspace ID. This opens the workspace switcher dropdown, which lists all workspaces you have access to.
- Use the Search bar at the top of the dropdown to find a specific workspace by name or ID, if required.
- Select the workspace you want to switch to.
VWO loads the selected workspace and updates the dashboard accordingly.
Reset Your Password
If you have forgotten your password or if you logged out of a new trial workspace before setting one, use the password reset flow as follows:
- On the login page, click Forgot Password?.
- Enter your registered Email address.
- Click Reset Password. If your email address is registered with VWO, you will receive instructions to reset the password for your workspace.
- Open the Reset password for your VWO account email and click the link provided.
- Enter and confirm your New Password.
- Click Reset Password.
Once you’ve done that, you should be able to log in using your new password.

Is it possible to change my login email address after creating a workspace?
Yes, you can update your login email address directly from within the VWO application. Go to Profile > Settings > Profile Details, and click Change Email Address next to your current email. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. Once this process is complete, you will not be able to log in using your previous email address.

-
What happens to my workspace after the free trial ends?
After your free trial ends, you can still access your VWO workspace, but with limited functionality. For example, you may not be able to create new campaigns, while some existing data and features remain accessible. To continue using all features without restrictions, you must upgrade your account to a paid plan.
