To understand how a user interacts with your mobile application, you need to interpret the recording of their session. To view a mobile session recording, go to Insights > Mobile Recordings, and click on the Play button corresponding to the recording you want to view.
Interpreting a Mobile Session Recording
The mobile session recording of a visitor can help you map and analyze their journey on your mobile application. This can come in handy when you’re looking to identify their struggle areas, such as attempting to discover a CTA button or recognize the areas they frequent on your application. Using such data helps you to enhance your application to set your visitors on a seamless experience.
The mobile session recording player has two sections - the video play area and the control panel. The video play area displays the recording of the visitor’s sessions, while the control panel offers you the functions to control the playing of the video.
Viewing the Heatmap Data on the Recordings
The video play area hosts the View Heatmap button that, when clicked, reveals the distribution of taps on the application screen that is being featured.
What are heatmaps?
Heatmaps are visual representations of visitor interaction with an application screen at the point of capture and provide valuable insights into how visitors engage with it by highlighting the areas of interest.
How to interpret heatmap data on a mobile session recording?
They feature the cumulative data of the visitors, and all their sessions highlighted as spots. The colour of a spot represents the density of the taps on that region, varying from blue, green, yellow, and finally to red on the scale of low to high.
