At times, accepting and rejecting the push notification that appears in your browsers might become annoying for the users. To make the user journey seamless, the major browsers like Google Chrome(Version 80 and above) and Firefox(Version 72 and above) have recently made a few changes to handle the permission prompts for web push notification better. To know more, refer to Push Notification Opt-In Process
If you still wish to handle the push notification permission prompts the way that was handled earlier, enable the Force One-Step Opt-in feature from the VWO Engage app.
We do not recommend you to make this change as with this change, you are overlooking your browser settings and doing something against the browser policies. This might block your account in the future.
Prerequisite
The Force One-Step Opt-in feature is only available for HTTPS websites.
Procedure
- Login to your VWO Engage account.
- Go to SETTINGS > Opt-In.
- Choose the Opt-in type as One-Step Opt-in.
NOTE: This opt-in type is only enabled for HTTPS websites. - Enable the Force One-Step Opt-in feature.
- Click SAVE.
Post-requisite
To verify if the setting you made is successfully saved, open the browser and check for the permission prompt that comes up for the push notification. It must be similar to the one as it was before.
NOTE: If the two-step opt-in is still visible, please try again after clearing your cache.
